Integration of projects within our infrastructures

District Cleantech provides dedicated buildings and collaborative spaces designed to host innovation, entrepreneurship and cleantech activities within a real territorial environment.

La Centrale, Les Vestiaires and the District Cleantech Site form a connected ecosystem designed to accelerate projects from pilot to deployment.

  • The first District Cleantech zone (4,000 m²)

Located in Les Vestiaires, the former industrial changing rooms of the power plant site, this first development phase marks the operational starting point of District Cleantech.

The building will host coworking spaces, offices, meeting rooms, workshops and immersive areas designed to foster collaboration and project development.

2026 marks the start of construction, alongside the confirmation of organizations planning to establish a permanent presence on site.

2027 will see the official opening and the first teams moving into the District Cleantech offices.

  • Industrial land at scale – 40 hectares of opportunity

The District Cleantech benefits from 40 hectares of industrial land, directly connected to international markets through inland waterways and strategic mobility infrastructure.

Our objective is to align land development with the real needs of future users, ensuring long-term viability and industrial relevance.

This includes key topics such as district heating networks, industrial symbiosis, quay and logistics development, and access to sufficient electrical power, all currently addressed through an ongoing Walloon Government task force.

  • The District Cleantech will host a new generation of industrial and testing infrastructures designed to support the incubation, demonstration and industrial deployment of cleantech solutions.

La Centrale, a former power plant, is being transformed into a large-scale industrial hub of over 14,000 m² dedicated to incubation, experimentation and industrial scale-up.

2026 will mark the finalization of the project, including the permit application process and the launch of public procurement procedures.

From 2027 to 2029, construction works will be carried out, paving the way for the official inauguration planned by the end of 2029.

This phased development ensures a progressive and robust integration of innovation, aligned with the long-term transformation of the Porte Ouest site into a strategic cleantech district.
